Squash (Thu 7:30pm - 8:30pm Weekly)
Many of us have enjoyed the hospitality of Bob and Annette on camps at the farm (Bob reports that the campsite is booked on every weekend for months at a time as present). Some of us who would like to help Bob out, if only in a small way, will be heading to the farm on Sunday 21st of June to collect nuts. All are welcome to join us – either after morning church or before evening church.
Please bring your own food (or collect in Maleny on the way through). Kids are paid $ 2.00 a bucket! Any small amount can help (3 adults for 3 hours is a full working day for Bob). The setting is beautiful, the air crisp, and I’m sure that the company will be enjoyable!
This is our opportunity to show our appreciation for their hospitality we’ve enjoyed in the past. If you are able to help out please let Sue King know for numbers (3353 5039 / 0403 060952), and to obtain final details, Thank you.
DIRECTIONS
Cross bridge into Maleny township, turn right into Teak St, travel 1.6 km to T junction, turn left into Baroon Pocket Dam Rd, immediately turn right into Burgum Rd, travel along Burgum Rd for 1.5 km, cross over a cattle grid, pass five houses on your left to No.209, drive about 100 yards on, turn into the next gate – way on your left (big pine tree at gateway and macadamia trees on hill).

Nut Picking (21 June 2009)
The recent heavy rain has been a wonderful boost to our dams – but not always kind to farmers! Torrential rain (for example a staggering 500 ml, or 20 inches over the Easter period alone) has seen Grice’s Nut Farm awash. It has not been possible to get any machinery onto the rows of trees for some weeks, but in the meantime tons of nuts continue to fall. The nuts are of good quality initially, but unless picked up from the sodden ground quickly are deteriorating more rapidly than usual. Bob currently needs to pick up all of the nuts by hand. Many of us have enjoyed the hospitality of Bob and Annette on camps at the farm (Bob reports that the campsite is booked on every weekend for months at a time as present).
